What to wear for great birth photos
A few clients have recently asked me what they should wear during their births for good birth photographs.
I'll be honest - my knee jerk reaction is "whatever the heck you want!"
For the most part, you aren't really going to care about what you’re wearing during labor, and as your birth progresses, you'll want and need to wear less and less.
But as I thought more about this question, I realized there are a few suggestions for birth clothing that can make an impact on your photos.
Here are the three things you can wear to rock your birth photos and I've gone shopping for you! Just click each picture and it will take you directly to where you can buy!
One: A comfy Black Sports Bra or Bralette
Now, this isn't a marathon sports bra to hold you in place. You want something soft, a little loose and as comfortable as possible in but is also easy to get on and off. Choose black or another dark color so as baby is placed on your chest into your arms, no birth “tidbits” that transfer will show.
If you’re concerned with modesty or fall out, invest in a bra with a higher neckline than normal.
If you just don’t want to wear a bra at all, and no one would blame you, feel free to rock a black tank top instead.

Two: Black Depends
I know what you're thinking…diapers? But once your water breaks that fluid needs to go somewhere.
You will be given a pair of white mesh panties and a giant pad or a pair of Depends. Most hospitals & birth centers carry the white or the nude, which aren't the most flattering.
Black Depends not only look a bit more "put together", coordinating with that black bralette, but if you're concerned about modesty, black Depends are a bit more opaque. You can get a pack of 20 at Target with nude, black, and purple, and they are great after birth as period pads, so you will use them.
Three: A cute, comfy robe
So when you feel like walking the halls or just have some chills, you're covered. Also, post birth this can be a life saver when you still don't feel like getting dressed but the family wants to come in & visit your new baby.
